About

Patricia at squared off exhibition in GreenvilleMy name is Patricia Thomas and I have been painting for the last 30+ years. Although I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Science from Auburn University at Montgomery, Alabama, I have received art training in elective classes at AUM, continuing education classes at the Memphis College of Art, and art classes under the tutelage of Julia Peters, accomplished artist of Greenville, SC, where I now reside with my husband and three children.

I usually paint pictures of family, pets, and scenes from my travels or local landmarks.  I love expressing my creativity through choosing a subject, deciding on the composition, and bringing the endeavor to fruition. I prefer working in oils because of its tradition, malleability, durability, and layering effects. I work around oil’s slow drying time by working on several projects at a time.   I also have also recently been offering commissioned works such drawings, faster drying acrylic paintings on canvas, and “art you can eat” baked goods.

Follow me on Facebook and Twitter to see more of my work. You can also subscribe to this site’s RSS feed for the latest posts about my new projects. Lastly, you can visit my Etsy Shop to see my latest work for sale, or to inquire about a custom portrait. I also open my studio by appointment or during Metropolitan Arts Council’s Open Studios.
